Save the date: summer event, 4-5.30pm, Thursday 20th August.

Feedback from our launch event in February showed that many of you are interested in the Sheffield Sustainability Network for networking, events, and training opportunities. Since then, we have formed a Training and Events working group, who will be responsible for curating events and training opportunities to meet the needs of Sheffield Sustainability Network members.
Although the current circumstances are a challenge for “traditional” networking events, we believe that the Covid situation makes it even more important to support each other, and support local businesses and organisations to build back better. With this in mind, we will be hosting a “Sustainability Summer Event” online on Thursday 20th August.
This event will start with an update from Sheffield Sustainability Network about all the work that’s been happening “behind the scene” since our February launch, and what to expect from us in the future.
Following that will be a short speaker session, which is focused on helping businesses and other organisations identify aspects of sustainability where they are already doing well, and areas which they might benefit from more knowledge. Your engagement and feedback on this session will help us prioritise training areas to be offered by Sheffield Sustainability Network.
The second half of the event will be small breakout groups, where you’ll be expected to introduce yourself to the other attendees, and share an example of a small change that your business or organisation could do (or has done) to be more sustainable. We hope that this will foster some great idea swapping, but also be an opportunity to network more generally with other members of Sheffield Sustainability Network.
As it’s an end of day event, we are encouraging people to join with a refreshing beverage and or nibbles. It will be a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, even though we’re meeting online not in person.
More details on how to register and join the event will follow – please sign up to our newsletter if you haven’t already, and follow us on the usual social channels.
